About me

John spent fifteen years helping farmers get cow muck off places it shouldn’t be. That experience shaped the way he now practises law — with a belief that even the most complex legal issues can be explained simply, clearly, and without fuss.

John understands that most clients don’t want to get a law degree. They’re busy with work, busy with family, and (usually, in the Waikato) busy with the season’s demands. So he aims to treat clients the way he wants his own dentist to treat him: available when needed, quick to fix the issue, easy to talk to, and costing less than a new Hilux.

When he’s not working, John spends time with his six children and renovates his Te Kuiti do-up — a project that, like the law, requires patience, persistence, and a practical mindset.

He brings that same no-nonsense approach to his legal work: turn up, fix the problem, and don’t make it harder than it needs to be.

If you want clear advice, straight answers, and someone who understands rural life without needing it explained, John is probably your guy.

John’s practice covers a wide range of matters, with most of his time spent on wills, Enduring Powers of Attorney, and the buying and selling of land.
