About Me
Ivan joined Edmonds Judd in June 2026, bringing with him extensive legal experience gained across a variety of private practice and in-house roles. Most recently, he spent six and a half years with Cooney Lees Morgan, working in both their Matamata and Tauranga offices. During that time, he practised in property and development law before moving into personal client and trusts work.
Prior to this, Ivan was a partner in a boutique Auckland law firm for 12 years. His career has also included positions in medium and large firms, in-house legal roles, and a period working with the Employment Court, giving him a broad perspective on the legal profession and the needs of his clients.
A graduate of the Victoria University of Wellington Faculty of Law, Ivan grew up in Northland and has strong ties to the Waikato through his wife’s family, who have farmed on the slopes of Maungatautari for generations. He and his family now call Cambridge home.
Outside of work, Ivan enjoys being involved in local sport. He can often be found refereeing junior rugby on Saturdays or supporting his son from the sidelines at football matches.
Ivan is passionate about building strong relationships with clients and is looking forward to serving the Te Awamutu and wider Waikato communities as part of the Edmonds Judd team.
